Twenty-five traders could end up paying $50,000 each in spot fines for not effecting VAT changes to their prices of goods and services.

The Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority (FRCA) is investing cases of non-compliance.

FRCA acting Chief Executive Officer Visvanath Das told FBC News:

“With regards to those investigations may be at this stage I can confirmed we have completed five cases ready to be fined and we are in process of completing another twenty cases, so at hand you know we are sort of ready to action twenty five cases.”
