The 46‑year‑old chief security officer who allegedly murdered a 28‑year‑old man of Korovuto has been further remanded in custody by the Lautoka High Court.

George William Seniteva who was a chief security officer at a nightclub in Nadi is charged with one count of murder.

The matter has been adjourned to the 4th of October for information and disclosures.

A Nadi nightclub chief security officer appeared at the Lautoka High Court this morning before Justice Aruna Aluthge.

George William Seniteva is alleged to have murdered a 28-year-old man in Nadi in June 2016.

The matter was for First Call today.

The State sought time to file the Information and Disclosures and the same was granted.

The Defence made a formal bail application and the State has been given seven days to respond.

The matter has been adjourned to 27th of July 2016 for the State to respond to the bail application and 3rd of August 2016 for Information and Disclosures.

The accused has been further remanded in custody

A 46-year-old security officer of Navo, Nadi who is charged with the murder of a 28-year-old man of Korovuto appeared in the Nadi Magistrates Court yesterday afternoon.

George William Seiniteva who is charged with one count of ‘murder’ appeared before Magistrate Mohammed Azhar and was represented by lawyer Eroni Maopa.

The victim was found lying unconscious outside a nightclub in Namaka on the 19th of last month.

He was rushed to Nadi hospital, however, he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police prosecutor sergeant Parmesh Chand objected to bail and requested for the matter to be transferred to the High Court because it was an indictable offense.

Magistrate Azhar approved that the case to be transferred to the High Court.

The accused has been remanded in custody.

The case has been adjourned to the 20th of this month.

A security officer has been charged by the Fiji Police Force with one count of ‘murder’ for the death of a 28-year-old man of Korovuto in Nadi

In a statement, Police spokesperson Inspector Josaia Weicavu said the 46-year-old security officer of Navo in Nadi will be produced in the Nadi Magistrate Court this afternoon.

WEICAVU: “The security officer has been charged with one count of murder for the death of a 28-year-old man of Korovuto, Nadi.”

Inspector Weicavu said the incident happened at a nightclub on 19th of last month.
