The ‘Vanua o Navo’ reminded the duos to put God first in whatever situation they go through.

Sevens speedster Viriviri acknowledged the Vanua for hosting them.

VIRIVIRI: “I thank you all for you support and I thank you for always being there for us. I also thank the Lord for his protection and guidance that made us win Gold.”

Viriviri said it was not easy for the team and themselves to win Gold medal in Rio.

Kitione Taliga echoed similar sentiments.

TALIGA: “The celebration today has meant a lot for us and I thank you all the Vanua for this.”

Meanwhile, the ‘Vanua o Dratabu’ planted coconut palms along their driveway into the village as a remembrance for their success.
