Miss Fiji Sugar Corporation Alitia Epi was crowned Vodafone Miss Friendly North last night.

The 23-year-old was crowned by the Vodafone’s chief marketing officer Rajnesh Prasad at Subrail Park in Labasa.

Miss Epi dedicated her win to her sponsor, family, and friends.

EPI: “First and foremost, I would like to to take this opportuinty to thank the Lord almighty for giving me the strength and the opportuinity and the courage to stand before hundreds of people and speak on the platform which is on ‘sustainable development’. There is a list of people that I would like to thank on my journey for this years festival. My queen mothers Adivane, Seini, Litiana and Saleshni and also to my parents for blessing me as I grace the stage every evening and also to Mrs Ali for designing my clothes and to Ashneel for designing my clothes.”

She was also crowned Miss Charity.

Epi raised $43,700 said she will be undertaking projects to help the people of Vanua Levu and Fiji.

She will join winners from other festivals and carnivals from around the country to compete at the Miss Fiji pageant in Suva.

EPI: “I am indeed honoured to represented with this opportunity to be Miss Friendly North 2016 with this comes greater responsibility and I promise that I will uphold my duties and responsibility as I enter into the Miss Fiji pageant.”

Meanwhile, Miss Civil Service Northern Division Elenoa Matatolu was chosen as the 1st runner-up and Miss Land Transport Authority (LTA) Joan Robinson was the 2nd runner up.
