Minister for Local Government, Housing, Environment, Infrastructure and Transport Hon. Parveen Kumar Bala highlighted this yesterday at the launch of the event in Suva.

Minister Bala said the efforts by the Suva City Council and the Suva Retailers Association executives to revive the Suva on Sale after five years was significant for Suva and her citizens.

BALA: “The event is meant to showcase Suva to visitors and every retailer’s support shall assist in developing and promoting this spectacular Suva City product.”

Suva Retailers Association secretary Selva Reddy said the event would also be beneficial to tourists with the encouraging number of cruise liners coming to Suva.

REDDY: “There will be draws of free bees at the end of the festive week and also two each return air tickets to San Francisco and Singapore to attract shoppers. With the sale of stalls already on way, we are optimistic that this year’s Suva on Sale will be a great success.”

More than 250 retailers from Suva are expected to take part in the week-long event.

The proceeds from the Suva on Sale will go towards the Prime Minister’s National Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation Fund.

Suva on Sale will take place from Saturday 4th June to Saturday 11th June 2016.
