The roofing iron, which is part of the Salvation Army’s larger response to Tropical Cyclone Winston, will assist families in need of shelter in the Western Division.

In handing over the stock of roofing iron in Lautoka, Major David Noakes, the Salvation Army Divisional Commander for Fiji, said the donation was made possible through an appeal that raked in $600,000 from the Salvation Army in New Zealand.

He said that the donation of roofing iron follows initial supplies of food, timber, tarpaulins, chainsaws, mattresses, wheelbarrows, and other relief and rehabilitation items.
