Laucala Bay road to be closed this Saturday for Hibiscus opening march

The road from the Flagstaff roundabout along Laucala Bay Road to the Vodafone Arena will be closed to all traffic for three hours on Saturday.

The road closure times are as follows:

  • Saturday, August 13th from 11:30am-2pm
  • Wednesday, August 17th from 11am – 12pm (from Queen Elizabeth Drive into Laucala Bay Road (“My Suva Park” to the Vodafone Arena)
  • Saturday, August 20th from 10am-2pm

2016 Hibiscus Committee, Public Relations Officer Liga Gukisuva said that the during the closure on Saturday the opening march will take place from Flagstaff to the Vodafone Arena.

He said the duration would take about 1hour 30minutes.

He said drivers are requested to take alternative routes during the closure.

In a statement, the Hibiscus Event Group Incorporated Chairman Hirdesh Prasad urged members to find alternative parking spaces as the ANZ Stadium car park would not be available.

PRASAD: “We apologize for any inconvenience caused.”

The Hibiscus Festival will be held at the Laucala Bay area from the 13th to the 20th of August.
