This initiative was made possible after Dreamz Productions of New Zealand signed an agreement with the Hibiscus Events Group in Suva today.

The two winning contestants will have the leading the role in the movie called ‘Gangster’.

Producer Dr. Rachel Singh said they were pleased with the talents that are available in the country after shooting a film here.

SINGH: “I am really glad we did this I am really looking forward to the winners that will be part of the production and hopefully it all goes well. I have learned a lot of things about Fiji for the past years I have been travelling and I am looking forward to the next shooting.”

Dr. Singh also said this would be a great opportunity for them to showcase their talents and skills.

SINGH: “What we have decided is that, when we were talking to our chairmen we thought it would be a great opportunity for us to be able to give our local talents of Fiji an opportunity to work in an international film which will help them to develop their skills in communication.”

Hibiscus Events Group (HEGI) executive chairman Hirdesh Prasad acknowledged their partnership.

PRASAD: “This is one of the exciting years for Hibiscus and I believe it is one of the most exciting years as we will be celebrating the 60th year this year. We have secured all sponsorship that needs to be secured for the Hibiscus event.”

The 2016 Vodafone Hibiscus Festival will be held from the 12th to the 20th of August at the Vodafone Arena and the surrounding car park.
