The Fiji Police Force has made no arrests in the alleged hit and run where a 53-year-old security officer of Vuci was found by his brother lying in a drain along Vuci Road, Nausori.

In a statement, Inspector Jokatama Qio said Police investigations continue into the matter.

QIO: “Still no arrests investigation continues. We continue to appeal to members of the public for information.”

An investigation is underway following another alleged hit and run accident.

The incident occurred along Vuci South Road, in Nausori at about 6am this morning whereby a 53-year-old security officer of Vuci was found by his brother lying in a drain.

In a statement, Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the man was walking some distance ahead of his 40-year-old brother when a white van, registration unknown, approached them.

NAISORO: “According to the 40-year-old brother his vision was impacted by the van’s lights and he couldn’t see ahead. After the van had passed he then noticed his brother lying in a nearby drain with visible injuries.”

Naisoro said the man was rushed to the Nausori Health Centre and later died.

NAISORO: “We are pleading for information that could help us identify and locate the vehicle concerned and anyone with information is requested to call Crime Stoppers on 919 or their nearest Police Station.”

Police investigations continue.
