A 45-year-old woman of Maqbool Road, Nadera is in police custody for allegedly pouring hot water on her husband, and then striking him with a knife.

Police Spokesperson Inspector Josaia Weicavu said the incident occurred at their home on Sunday night and the woman would be produced in court today charged with “Act with Intent to cause Grievous Harm”.

Inspector Weicavu said family members especially husbands and wives are advised to solve their problem amicably and not to resort to violence as it will just worsen the situation.

WEICAVU: “Please seek help from community leaders, religious leaders, Social Welfare, NGOs, police and other relevant authorities to resolve your situation rather than taking the law into your own hands.”
