Launching the one-week training workshop, Youth Minister Laisenia Tuitubou said the aim of the workshop was to build strong moral values in youths and equip them with democratic decision making skills.

One of the aims of workshop such as this is that young people will be good role models showing strong moral values in all facets of their lives.

It supports the democratic participation of young people in the wise personal decisions they make and also the decisions made in their homes, social groups and nation.

Tuitubou urged the youths to identify key challenges faced by young people and find innovative solutions.

I also look forward to seeing films that participants will produce on themes of challenges faced by young people and solutions for alleviating them. The contribution of young voices in these narratives is important. My Ministry believes that young people need to be actively involved in strategies that enable them to deal with their issues effectively.

The workshop is funded by the Canada Fund For Local Initiative.
