Digicel Fiji has given a $30,000 sponsorship for the 2016 edition of Women in Business Awards (WIB Awards) earlier today at the Digicel headquarters in Suva.

Digicel CEO Darren McLean confirmed today at the official handover on its ongoing support as Silver sponsor for the 2016 edition of Women in Business Awards.

The Silver sponsorship is worth $30,000 including cash and prizes like smartphones, tablets, free talk time and data.

CEO Darren McClean said that Digicel Fiji is delighted to continue the partnership with WIB. This is the fourth year for Digicel’s partnership with the WIB Awards.

We are delighted to continue our partnership with WIB and thank the organizing committee for this opportunity to be part of this great Fiji-wide initiative.

At Digicel we have a proud history of supporting women in key leadership roles, ensuring they have the necessary training and providing the support to help them succeed. We have up to 15 women in senior leadership roles in Digicel Fiji and we expect this number to grow in the next two years.

Digicel has introduced this year ‘ Women in Leadership League’ or WILL which is the vehicle to provide our womem with a platform to grow together with other empowered women.

This initiative will reinforce gender diversity and will ensure the interests, needs and priorities of women are heard and taken into consideration.

The President of the Women in Business, Nur Bano Alis thanked Digicel for their partnership with the women in business.
