Minister for Civil Aviation Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said:

Fiji and Singapore share many things in common as small countries with dynamic economies. Singapore Airlines, as well, can serve as an excellent model for how to position our own aviation industry in a competitive marketplace.

Fiji will take part in the upcoming Singapore Airshow Aviation Leadership Summit to be held on 14-15th February.

Mr. Sayed-Khaiyum said that Fiji Airways expansion into Singapore in April made it vital that Fiji better integrated into the aviation industry in Singapore and beyond.

Aviation Leadership Summit is expected to bring together civil aviation ministers, senior government officials, regulators, the private sector and airline operators to discuss the future direction of the aviation industry.

Mr. Sayed-Khaiyum also said that Fiji Airways would explore code-sharing with Singapore Airlines.
