LTA CEO Mr Naisa Tuninaceva revealed this at the opening of the Database training for Police officers earlier today.

Mr Tuinaceva said people can enjoy the comforts of their home while browsing through this information’s and not travel to the LTA’s office.

TUINACEVA: “That is where we are going right now, the people of Fiji very soon will be able to read the information in this system from the their mobiles and from the internet right in the luxury of their living room. That is what we are going to do now, the online services will come, no more coming to our office to wait for hours to check, so we are trying this out.”

He said this could be a way to minimize the number of death tolls in our roads.

TUINACEVA: “I am saying that for you to see the need for us to work together to get this system up and ready so we can continue to make our roads safe. This will improve the work of prosecution and enforcement on our roads, because if we can do that then we will be able to achieve our goals of making our roads safe.”

Mr Tuinaceva said members of the public will be invited to register next week at the LTA’s office.

TUINACEVA: “Maybe next week we will be giving the invitation to members of the public to come and register, you can be checking all your license and fines from your laptops and mobiles.

Meanwhile, the two days workshop finishes tomorrow.
