New sugar CEO to take the industry forward before he retires

The Fiji Sugar Corporation announced Graham Clark as the new chief executive officer at the company headquarters in Lautoka yesterday.

A Zimbabwean national, Mr Clark has a lot of experience having worked in many sugar industries around the globe and most recently South Africa.

In welcoming the new CEO, FSC Chairman Mr Vishnu Mohan said the Board and Government were confident in Mr Clark’s abilities.

Mr Mohan said Mr Clark had been a group manager and managing director of multinational sugar and marketing companies.

“He was also involved with a well known British plantation group which specialises in African farms.”

Mr Clark said he saw opportunity in Fiji’s sugar industry and would apply his experience and background to raise the sector to new heights.

Mr Clark replaces Mr Abdul Khan who resigned last year and Mr Mikaele Biukoto who was acting in the position for three months.

Mr Mohan also announced the appointment of new directors; Mr Arif Ali, the deputy governor of the Reserve Bank, and Mr Hari Raniga, director of Maganlal Jiwa and Sons.
