PM Bainimarama said the completion of this jetty is another milestone delivered by the Government in unlocking the development potential in rural and small island communities to enable ordinary Fijians to benefit economically.

Bainimarama:”For the first time it provides an adequate loading and unloading facility that will cut down on transportation costs and reduce the time it takes to handle cargo.”

The Jetty is built for a berthing capacity of 10,000-tonne vessels at the front face and can accommodate roll on‑roll off vessels.

The Prime Minister will continue to visit villagers in Gau today.
