The team stabilised and sealed a 500metre section of the road with another 400 metres still undergoing rehabilitation.

Fulton Hogan Hiways Sealing Manager Jimmy Blair said the sealing of 900 x 9.8 metre-wide of the Lepanoni and Taunovo section of highway was because the road had not been repaired for a number of years.

Mr Blair emphasised that the extensive damage may have been an impact of 6,000 vehicles that travel the road every day due to the stress caused by heavily loaded and overloaded trucks, causing deterioration of the road surface and numerous potholes that are hard for motorists to avoid.

BLAIR : “Motorists should experience a safer, smoother driving experience, without worrying about patches, uneven surfaces and potholes.”

Fulton Hogan Hiways, working closely with the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA), continues to provide road maintenance for the Central and Northern Divisions.
