Following the heavy downpour last week in the Central and Eastern divisions Fulton Hogan Hiways (FHH) is intensifying its pothole repair works.

Working under the Fiji Roads Authority maintenance programme, Fulton Hogan Hiways Suva North Area Manager, Asheesh Chand, said that pothole crews are doing their best to repair fresh potholes that have appeared as a result of the rainy spell.

CHAND: “The crews are patching the main highway on the Queens Road, Kings Road, Ratu Dovi Road, Fletcher Road, McGregor Road, Rewa Street and arterial roads. To beat traffic, crews are out by 5am to repair the busier streets.”

A total of 16 pothole crews are currently out on the roads in both the Central and Eastern divisions.

Mr Chand advised drivers to adhere to the safety signs and speed limits, especially on busy sections. as FHH inspectors are also out on the roads reporting on new pothole sites.

Meanwhile, weather permitting, work will continue into next week.
