Fulton Hogan’s Rewa Depot Supervisor, Suliasi Lesianavanua, said that the 1.1 kilometre road, located some five kilometres from Nausori, had received a major upgrade that was completed over late last year.

Raralevu Road provides access for the residents of Raralevu, Maumi and Namata Villages, Korociriciri settlement and for workers at the Crest Chicken poultry farm.

The work included raising the road by 100 millimetres and widening the road from four to six metres, followed by a combination of grading, compacting and gravelling with crushed rocks.

Raralevu Road is in a low-lying area that has always been prone to flooding whenever there is a heavy downpour, so raising the height of the road helps to prevent this.  Blocked water channels also contribute to flooding, so we cleared all of these.

Working closely with Fiji Roads Authority (FRA), Fulton Hogan Hiways continues to provide road maintenance in the Central/Eastern and Northern Divisions. Fulton Hogan Hiways Joint Venture has improved access to three villages and one settlement in the Tailevu North area.
