The 47 year old taxi driver namely Rakesh Narayan who was charged with one count of ‘Attempted Murder’ and one count of ‘Act With Intent to Cause Grievous Harm’ appeared before Magistrate Charles Ratakele at the Nasinu Magistrates Court this afternoon.

Police Spokesperson Naina Ragigia said in a statement:

The man has been refused bail as prosecutors objected to bail as the offence was an Indictable Offence.

The court has also issued a Domestic Violence Restraining Order against Mr Narayan.

The 42-year-old woman who was stabbed in Nakasi remains admitted at the CWM Hospital in critical condition whilst the 43-year-old man who was also stabbed has been discharged from the hospital.

Police believe the incident occurred at the Shop N Save Nakasi Supermarket car park at around 8 pm Wednesday night [16th March].

He remains in custody and his case will be called for mention on the 30th of March, 2016 at the Nasinu Magistrates Court
