Investigations are underway into the transactions that involved the purchasing of electronic items from a Bondwell outlet with the use of a stolen cheque.

Police Spokesperson Naina Ragigia said initial investigations reveal that the stolen chequebook with serial numbers of ‘000101- 000150’ on the account number ‘10762717’ on the company name ‘Vanua Traders’.

The chequebook was reported missing on 15th October,2015 from Nakasi. It is understood that a group of people are moving around, hiring taxi drivers to collect items from various business outlets and issuing cheques for payment of the services rendered.

We also plead with business houses to be mindful of the above-stolen cheque and not to accept any transaction under the mentioned company name.

Anyone with information on the stolen chequebook is requested to contact CID Headquarters on 3315 599 or 9904 682 and Crime Stoppers on 919.
