Three serious road accident reports were received by police over the weekend.

In the first incident which occurred in the early hours of the yesterday morning, a 25-year-old Electrician lost control of the vehicle he was driving and a bumped a tree.

Police Spokesperson Inspector Josaia Weicavu said the driver, with 3 other passengers were on their way to Suva along Princess Road when the incident happened.

All three passengers including the driver were rushed to Nausori Hospital, and are under observation. Both drivers are expected to be brought into Sigatoka and Nausori Police station to be questioned soon.

The second incident saw taxi driven by a 23-year-old man carrying 3 passengers veered off the road and bumped a tree.

Inspector Weicavu said the accident occurred along the Olosara settlement, Queens Road, Sigatoka yesterday afternoon.

All three passengers with the driver were rushed to Sigatoka Hospital and the driver with one passenger treated and sent home whilst two other passengers were transferred to Lautoka Hospital for further treatment.

The third incident a woman aged 53 years was rushed to CWM Hospital after she was involved in an accident in front of Mcdonalds in Suva early yesterday morning.

Inspector Weicavu said that the woman was rushed to CWM Hospital and treated and sent home, he said the woman received minor injuries to her face.

The woman is alleged to have suddenly crossed the road whilst a taxi driven by a 44 year old man, accidentally hit the woman.

We continue to sound warning and pleas to members of the public when using the road. This comes after we received three reports of serious accidents over the weekend.
