The MV Uluinabukelevu that left Suva at 6am bound for Kadavu encountered engine problem and is drifting between Beqa and Kadavu waters.

Police Spokesperson Inspector Josaia Weicavu said the boat was conveying more than 60 passengers.

Inspector Weicavu said the Fiji navy and boat management have arranged for another boat to tug the drifting boat back to Suva today.

WEICAVU : “All passengers on board are safe and well. It is advisable that all boat owners are to make sure that their boat is in full operational conditions before they set sail.”
