Three men have been arrested in separate cases around Fiji for being in possession of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

Police spokesperson Inspector Josaia Weicavu confirmed the arrests today:

“Police in Kadavu have arrested a 42 year old farmer of Kadavu for found in possessions of several branches of dried marijuana leaves wrapped in a plastic at Vunisea Jetty yesterday morning. The man is under interrogation.”

“In Sigatoka, police have arrested a 35 year old Panel Beater of Olosara, Sigatoka after he was found in possession of dried marijuana leave on early Wednesday morning at Sigatoka town. He will be produced at the Sigatoka magistrate court this morning.”

“In Labasa, Police have arrested a man of Naodamu Housings, Labasa for being in possession of more than 100 sachets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana. Police were searching for the suspect for a case of burglary when they found the drugs on him yesterday afternoon.”
