Lautoka woman dies from severe burns after setting herself alight

A 35-year-old woman of Lautoka died from severe burns after setting herself alight. 

Police Spokesperson, Inspector Josaia Weicavu said this resulted after having an argument with her husband on Saturday (2/04/16).

The woman passed away at the Burns Unit, Lautoka Hospital yesterday with Post Morterm completed on the deceased. Cause of death is attributed to severe burns of 94%.

Inspector Weicavu said the woman died instantly.

Inspector Weicavu is advising members of the public to solve family issues and seek assistance from relevant authorities.

Family members are advised to solve their family issues amicably and seek assistance from relatives, social group, religious leaders, councillors, NGO’s, social welfare, police and other relevant authorities.

Taking your life away is not a solution to your problem and will never be an answer to your family issues. Always remember your loved ones especially your children who are under your care.
