Police have confirmed that five people continue to be interviewed for information received regarding comments uttered during a Pacific Dialogue panel discussion earlier this week.

A National Federation Party member told Newswire that the party Leader Biman Prasad and Attar Singh were taken in my Police.

An update on NFP’s Facebook page this morning stated that :

The NFP Leader, Hon Prof Biman Prasad and Trade Unionist and former NFP Leader, Attar Singh are well this morning. Questioning is set to continue today with their lawyers, Mr Raman Singh and Ms Makereta Waqavonovono present.

In a statement released this morning, the Fiji Police said:

Again the Fiji Police would like to reiterate that this is being done to clarify if the information is credible as the alleged utterances would have affected the safety and security of all Fijians.
