A statement from the Fiji Police Force confirmed the visit was the first by an Indian Defence Advisor and was part of his official tour of our Defence Forces.

Discussions were mainly focused on opportunities of training that could be offered by both sides of the table.

Captain Chandegave’s visit is the result of bilateral agreements between Fiji and India signed by the two governments recently to create opportunities to enhance training.

In response Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho said: “The Fiji Police Force will continue to engage in constructive dialogue and aid the Indian Defense Forces in whatever way that we can”.
