The 39-year-old man who was charged for allegedly stabbed his 37-year-old brother after an argument on Tuesday afternoon at Kalabu appeared in the Nasinu Magistrate Court this morning.

Police Spokesperson, Inspector Josaia Weicavu said he appeared at Nasinu Magistrate Court today at 9am and has been remanded at Suva Remand Centre until 22nd April 2016 to appear in the High Court.

The 39-year-old man who allegedly stabbed his 37-year-old brother after an argument on Tuesday afternoon at Kalabu has been charged with one count of murder today.

Post-mortem has been conducted on the man who police believe was stabbed to death after an argument at Jale Road, Kalabu on Tuesday afternoon.

Police Spokesperson, Inspector Josaia Weicavu said the cause of death had been attributed to ‘Severe Blood Clot’ as a consequence of the severe traumatic chest injury.

It is understood that an argument broke out when the duo were cooking and the suspect stabbed the deceased with a kitchen knife.  The victim was rushed to CWM Hospital and pronounced ‘Dead on Arrival’.
