A 29-year-old driver of Muanikoso Housing is under investigation after he bumped a 29-year-old farmer of Naluwai Village, Naitasiri at Naluwai last night. The farmer was riding his bicycle along Naluwai road when he was bumped.

Police Spokesperson, Inspector Josaia Weicavu said that the victim is now admitted at the Vunidawa Hospital.

The driver fled the scene after the accident but police managed to apprehend him at Princes Road later.

Drivers are again advised to be more vigilant and take extra care when driving on our roads in this adverse weather conditions. They are also warned that it is a serious offense to flee from the scene of an accident without assisting the victim and also not reporting the accident to police. Remember that saving the life of an accident victim is more important than anything else when accidents happens.

Police investigations continue into the matter.
