Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the students are alleged to have stolen and damaged properties at the school during the height of Severe Tropical Cyclone Winston on the 22nd of February this year.

NAISORO: These students did steal some valuable items of other students, like laptops and some other stuff. They also damaged some school properties. The case has been on going for sometime now.

Naisoro said the investigation file is being compiled and is expected to be forwarded to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for sanctioning on Monday.

NAISORO: “We have sent the charges to the ODPP. We can not set the charges because they are juveniles. The ODPP will recommend to us what charges should be laid on these students.”

Most of the students that are involved are now attending schools in the West and the North as directed by the Ministry of Education.
