Two men have been charged with a count each of Abduction after they were found to have abducted two teenage girls in Suva.

Police Spokesperson, Inspector Josaia Weicavu said the men were charged with a count each of Abduction and have been produced at the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday.

Inspector Weicavu said the two men aged 18 years and 19 years abducted the two students both at the age of 14 years at separate incidents in Suva.

Inspector Weicavu said keeping a child (below the age of 18yrs) without the legal consent of their parents is an offence and those caught doing so will be dealt with accordingly.

Teenage children that tend to run away from home and reside at a friend’s place without the consent of their parents are asked by Police to refrain from the act as Abduction, as the offence will be charged to the adult that is keeping them.
