Nadi Town is officially closed for business today as water level within the town area remains at a high level not suitable for people to enter into the town area.

Police has advised that as of this morning, the rain has stopped, however, water level within the town area from all points of entry, inclusive of Nadi Back Road, Nadi Town Temple End and Nadi bridge from Namotomoto village is still high indicating the town to be still CLOSED to ALL TRAFFFIC or people.

Police officers are currently on the ground at all points of entry, monitoring the water level and we advise people not to attempt to travel through town today. As of this morning, there have been members of the public that have come up towards these various points of entries and requested police to allow them access through town, however, they have all been directed back to their various homes to remain there till further notice.

There have also been people that are travelling on their fibre glass boats and wishing to travel past Nadi town and the same has been told to them by our officers on the ground, to return to their various homes. We request members of the public not to risk their own lives in attempting to cross through the town area as it may be still dangerous to do so at this point in time.

Police officers are on the ground monitoring weather situations and the public will be advised accordingly through the media once Nadi Town is accessible to all.
