President Konrote made the remarks at a military ceremony of welcome, held at the  Queen Elizabeth Barracks on Wednesday.

While inspecting the 100-men “Guard of Honor”, the President, who is also the RFMF’s Commander in Chief thanked the military for its role in assisting the Government’s nation building efforts.

President Konrote also praised soldiers serving in international peacekeeping missions.

I would like to thank the RFMF commander and all members of the RFMF for supporting Government in the last 15 years, President Konrote said. Let us continue to look after our families and be reminded that they too are part of the military extended family.
We must all work together to ensure that our beloved country moves forward with prosperity and this will only depend on our individual efforts.
Also present at the event was the Prime Minister Hon. Voreqe Bainimarama.
