The Legal Aid Commission of Fiji has opened two more new offices today.

Chairman of the Legal Aid Commission, Sharvada Sharma announced that as of this morning two more offices in Levuka and Nabouwalu are now open.

He said their plan is to open offices in Kadavu and Rotuma in the 2016 to 2017 budget year.

SHARMA: “In the 2016-2017 Budget year, our plan is to open offices in Kadavu and Rotuma. We are also currently doing undertaking a study to assess other locations where we need to have an office, and at this stage, we are looking at Seaqaqa, Vunidawa and Keiyasi.”

He said the commission has a total of sixteen offices throughout Fiji.

SHARMA: “Prior to 2012, the Commission had only 4 offices in Fiji in Suva, Lautoka, Labasa and Ba. Today, with the assistance and commitment of the Fijian Government to the provision of free legal aid services, we have a total of 16 offices throughout Fiji in Nausori, Nasinu, Suva, Navua, Sigatoka,  Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Tavua, Rakiraki, Korovou, Labasa, Savusavu, and Tavueni.”
