Jeremaia Savou is new resident magistrate

His Excellency the President, Major General (Ret’d) Jioji Konousi Konrote swore-in the new Resident Magistrate, Mr Jeremaia Nailagovesi Lakobalavu Savou at the State House this morning.

Mr Savou took the oath before the Head of State in the presence of the Hon. Chief Justice Mr Justice Anthony Gates, the Chief Magistrate Mr Usaia Ratuvili and his family members.

The new Resident Magistrate started his career as a Legal Officer at the Land Transport Authority in August 2005 where he worked for six years.

Prior to his appointment, Mr Savou was the Principal Legal Officer at the Legal Aid Commission since August 2011.

He holds a Bachelor of Law from the University of the South Pacific, where he also completed his Post Graduate Certificate in Diplomacy and International Affairs.
