The AG said the upcoming budget will focus on promoting inclusivity and broad-based growth so that we can continue creating sustainable employment for ordinary Fijians in the aftermath of Cyclone Winston.

SAYED-KHAIYUM: “We are prioritising funding for policies focussed on boosting our climate resilience and rebuilding from the cyclone.”

The Attorney General also emphasised the importance of consultations with the general public.

Last year, the AG announced the Government’s $3.4billion budget for 2016, themed A Strong Fiji, A Fair Fiji, A Healthy Fiji.

Advertisements will be placed in the Fiji Sun for members of the public to submit written submissions on their ideas and suggestions for the 2016-2017 National Budget.

The Attorney General and the Ministry of Finance team is also scheduled to meet with key non-government organisations and other stakeholders in the coming days.
