The Minister for Agriculture Hon. Inia Seruiratu and his staff welcomed the newly appointed Permanent Secretary for Agriculture, Mr. Jitendra Singh, at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Raiwaqa.

Minister Seruiratu said that despite the change in leadership, the Ministry remains the same and it will need the cooperation of all staff.

There is a need for staff to identify their responsibilities and be loyal to the institution and act accordingly.

Mr Singh stressed that the Ministry is at the core of any government policy agenda and needs to move forward with a holistic approach on issues that need to be addressed and dealt with as quickly as possible.

I am keen to learn with your co-operation and assistance in this manner

We have to bring changes to our environment in terms of policy and technology to be incorporated to our ministry.

He added that the Ministry needs to fast track certain processes of how things are done in a manner that will improve the agriculture sector.

Mr Singh reminded the staff that the mandate given by the Government for all Permanent Secretaries is to lead the Ministry in accordance with its policy agenda.

We are here to provide professional advice to the Minister and to government in moving the Ministry forward with its objectives.
