The Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts Mahendra Reddy have challenged heads of schools from around the country  to ensure that all children have access to excellence in all aspects of education.

Minister Reddy said the role of school heads is paramount in shaping the culture and direction of every school in the country.

REDDY: “We want to ensure excellence in all facets of education. In this contemporary era, the quality of education is the basis for the quality of knowledge in society. Quality education enables individuals to make meaningful impact in a globally competitive employment market.”

He said the education system is going through a major overhaul in terms of quality and excellence and the education sector need empowered educational leaders who can bring about positive changes in the lives of our children.

REDDY: “Education is paramount to national interests and I have reiterated time and again that I want every Fijian to have access to quality education so that they contribute positively to a ‘knowledge-based Society’. I dream that every child in Fiji goes through the ranks of education without having to make compromises and successfully contribute to nation building.”

Minister Reddy reminded the heads of schools of their core role which was teaching and helping students attain academic excellence.

REDDY: “The future of our children is in our hands and we are not only preparing them for the intermediate output of academic excellence but for the long term goal of building a peaceful, vibrant and growing society and country.”
