An Indian education and training franchise was relaunched at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva last night.

The Minister of Education Dr Mahendra Reddy, who was the chief guest at the event, said his ministry would work with the franchise to offer more opportunities to those who choose IT as a career path.

REDDY: ” There is no doubt that information technology has intensely altered all facets of our day to day lives. We will work with APTECH to help push the frontier and will offer a range of opportunities not only to children who choose IT education as their career path but to adults and working people who are already in the workforce”.

APTECH Fiji’s Chief Executive Office Ratu Meli Bainimarama said there were plans to expand to other parts of Fiji and the Pacific region.

BAINIMARAMA: ” Right now, APTECH Fiji is based here in Suva. There are plans for expansion of APTECH and the first expansion works will be to Lautoka and along the Suva to Nausori corrider. There are also plans to take APTECH to other parts of the pacific region”.

Bainimarama, who worked in the IT Department of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, said that he always had an interest in computers and electronics.

BAINIMARAMA: “I have always been interested in computers and electronics from a young age. I believe that IT is the future and we also want a maximum of 300 students per centre”.

Bainimarama said he had partnered with investors, Dickson Pang (Dickson International) and Mrs Setaita Kalou to assist in the running of the franchise.

  • CPISM : Certificate of Proficiency in Information Systems Management
  • DISM : Diploma in Information Systems Management
  • HDSE: Higher Diploma in Software Engineering
  • Advanced Diploma in Software Engineering
