Nine schools in the Namosi Province today received tablets donated by the Indian government.

Speaking at the Wainimakutu Secondary School, Education Minister Dr. Mahendra Reddy said:

Today what we see is a culmination of this support which has resulted in the supply of 5000 tablets to help us boost the students learning environment.

There is a major IT revolution in the world and we need to keep up and ensure our students are not deprived of this environment.

Wainimakutu villager Aminiasi Rakula commended government on the assistance provided:

We thank Government for not forgetting the people who live in interior areas like us, and we also thank the Indian government for all that they have done.

This assistance will very much boost the education of our children and we hope that more assistance will be on its way.

The nine schools that received tablets today include:

  • Wainimakutu Primary
  • Wainimakutu Secondary
  • Naqarawai SDA Primary
  • Navunikabi Primary
  • Nakavika Primary
  • Namosi Primary
  • Namosi Secondary
  • Waiyavu Primary
  • Veinuqa District School
