One hundred and sixty-nine graduates from the Technical College of Fiji’s Dr Shaukat Ali Shahib Campus were today urged to use the knowledge and skills learnt to achieve excellence in their fields of work.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Minister for Education Hon. Mahendra Reddy said Government’s aim was to make Technical College of Fiji the largest trade institution in the country with eleven centres around the country.

REDDY: “Use the certificates given out today to step into greater opportunities in life. Do not stop upgrading your qualifications. It is not enough to simply try and get by in life as that does not move the world forward but rather you must strive to excel in everything you do; that is excellence in every task, large or small,”

The 169 students graduated in various fields including National Certificates Level 2 in:

  • Automotive Electrical & Electronic,
  • Office Management,
  • Information Technology,
  • Automotive Mechanic, Carpentry,
  • Cabinet Making Joinery,
  • National Certificate II in Baking & Patisserie,
  • Cookery, and
  • Horticulture.

Graduates were provided with tools and equipment as part of their completion to assist them at work.
