The inaugural launch follows the hugely successful launch of the SIA Facebook page last month which attracted over 12,000 likes and 40,000 page views in just four weeks.

Features of the website include sections on the services that SIA provides such as  free assessment, provision of wheelchairs, employment opportunities for disabled women and disabled youth forums, a section detailing SIA’s partners and donors and a contact form where people can directly reach SIA with requests, questions or feedback.

SIA Executive Director  Joshko Wakaniyasi said of the new initiatives said the launch of both the website and SIA’s facebook page spoke volumes of the organization’s success.

WAKANIYASI: “By going online we can reach people throughout Fiji and beyond, and tell them about our services and the crucial work we do in transforming disabled people’s lives.More importantly, people can now reach us from anywhere in Fiji, and through our Facebook page,we have also received requests for assistance from remoter areas, as well as offers of support.”

“The Facebook page response, with 12,000 likes in four weeks has been amazing, and we believe the website will have a similar success.”
