The Fiji Police Force’s Cyber Crime Unit will be looking into a post on Facebook showing children allegedly being made to drink alcohol.

In a statement, Police Chief of Intelligence and Investigations ACP Luke Navela said that the issue was brought to his attention he has directed the Cyber Crime Unit to try and locate the adults who can be seen allegedly giving beer to a child.

ACP Navela said the photos were disturbing and clearly showed the mistreatment of the two children and raised much concern regarding the motive behind the social media post.

NAVELA: “As we have stated any posts on social media that shows children being mistreated will be looked into and those found doing so will be investigated.”

ACP Navela said the police were also seeking the assistance of the general public to identify those seen in the photos.

NAVELA: “If anyone has information that could help the team identify those seen in the photos please call Crime Stoppers on 919.”
