Investigations are underway into a fire that partially destroyed a 3 bedroom concrete house in Namadi Heights late Sunday night. 

Police Spokesperson, Naina Ragigia said the fire may have been caused by a lit candle that was placed on a wooden kitchen table.

The house was being rented by a 25yr old student of the University of the South Pacific and he was at home during the time of the incident.

Fire officers managed to contain the fire upon their arrival at the scene and their assessment towards the damages is currently underway with police investigations also continuing into the fire.

Meanwhile, a 4 bedroom house was also burnt to the ground in Lautoka at around midday yesterday.

Ragigia said investigations into the fire continue as Police try to ascertain the amount of damages and cause of fire.
