Twenty-seven middle to top level managers from around the country will be introduced into Leadership Fiji’s 2016 program.

A statement from Leadership Fiji (LF) said the program will be officially launched at USP in Suva this Friday.

The ten women and 17 men from various socio-economic sectors and knowledge areas will immerse into the annual Leadership Program, which has ushered through 327 venerated graduates.

Program Executive Director, Sharyne Fong mentioned that the initiative is aimed specifically at assisting Fijian leaders to cope with demands of the ever-changing world so that Fiji reaches its full potential in the widest sense.

The aim of Leadership Fiji is to expose participants to other prominent leaders from across our society, in a structured manner, providing them with the opportunity to deepen their understanding of their country, its history, economic and social structure.

Ms. Fong added that the program provided participants close interaction with Fiji Island leaders.

Participants get to explore their own values, philosophies, prejudices and beliefs through a variety of issues offered by the program; provides close interaction with Fiji Island leaders in fields such as the private sector, non-governmental organizations, government ministries, youth and faith based organizations.

A significant segment of the Program is geared towards local community development. Graduates in association with the wider LF Alumni undertake community initiatives. A year of continued service to the community is a mandatory prerequisite for attaining Fellowship of Leadership Fiji.

Leadership Fiji is an independent, non-partisan, non-aligned entity that began in 2000. Following the political upheaval of that year some corporate and community leaders met and identified a desperate need to build broadminded and educated leaders across the nation.
