Vilivo Vakatalebola and Ilaisa Dredrevola appeared before Judge Justice Achala Wengapulli.

In their closing submission, the prosecution told the court that the victim was 13-years-old at the time of the alleged rape and the matter was reported to Police by the victim’s mother.

The prosecution said that the rape allegedly occurred in a cave in Tovata, Makoi on the 10th of October 2012.

The court heard that the victim said she was grabbed when she went into the cave by six or seven boys.

The prosecution clarified that the victim gave evidence in court at the age of 17-years-old and did not report the matter immediately to police was because “she was scared”.

Legal Aid Commission Defence lawyer Seremaia Waqanibete did not object to the submissions provided by the Prosecution.

Justice Wengapulli adjourned the court till Monday for summing up.
