The investigation into the alleged murder of a woman in Tauvegavega Ba yesterday has now been classified as a murder-suicide case.

ACP Luke Navela said as such Police investigators will be conducting the necessary work regarding the circumstances surrounding the death of the two victims.

NAVELA: “Information gathered has confirmed it to be a murder-suicide case.”

ACP Navela said Police will not be making further comments until investigations are completed.

NAVELA: “Due to the sensitive nature of the events that transpired leading to the couple’s death, we will not be making further comments until the work of the investigators is completed.”

Police investigate alleged murder case in Ba

The Fiji Police Force is investigating the alleged murder of a 39-year-old woman in Tauvegavega, Ba.

In a statement, Police Chief of Intelligence and Investigations ACP Luke Navela said the victim’s husband was also found dead this morning.

NAVELA: “While we can confirm the victim’s husband was also found dead this morning, we cannot speculate the circumstances surrounding the two’s death as it is too early in the investigations.”

ACP Navela said it is also too early to speculate if the two tragic incidents are linked and further information will be released once investigators are able to conduct their work.
