The Chief Operations Officer ACP Rusiate Tudravu said his team raided the home of a 42-year-old man in Lautoka on Thursday.
“The assistance of Water Authority officials was sought when officers suspected he had quickly disposed of the drugs and the process of extracting the parcels from the sewer lines eventually led to the discovery of close to 30 parcels believed to be marijuana,” said ACP Tudravu.
ACP Tudravu said the man and a 31-year-old woman, arrested at the scene, have been charged with one count each of being found in possession of illicit drugs.
The two will be produced at the Lautoka Magistrates Court tomorrow.
