Chief Operations Officer Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Rusiate Tudravu said the raids were the result of a tip-off.

“A raid conducted at the home of a 33-year-old self-employed man in Nakasi resulted in the seizure of white crystals believed to be methamphetamine and apparatus allegedly used for manufacturing the drugs,” said Tudravu.

ACP Tudravu said a 28-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were also arrested and are being questioned, while the substances have been sent for analysis.

In the second raid conducted at a billiard shop in Nausori, police found a white plastic containing sachets of dried leaves hidden under a drain pipe.

“When officers removed the drain pipe cover they found the plastic containing the sachets. The leaves have been sent for analysis.”
