10 charged after Kadavu marijuana operation

A 30-year-old pastor is among 10 people brought to Suva after the one-week Operation Cavuraka by police in Kadavu.

More than 10 farms were raided, and more than 700 plants uprooted, ranging upwards of 2 meters.

According to police ACP Rusiate Tudravu, those arrested were aged from 20 to 53 years.

“Thirteen people were arrested and 6 have since been charged with unlawful cultivation of illicit drugs, 3 for being in possession of illicit drugs, 1 with criminal intimidation and resisting arrest while 3 men were interviewed and released.”

They will be produced at the Suva Magistrates Court today.
